Deck overview

This Izzet Spellslinger deck is commanded by Vivi Ornitier, an engine that translates noncreature casts into +1/+1 counters, table-wide burn, and burst mana generation. The deck leverages low-cost cantrips such as Ponder, Preordain, and Brainstorm to grow Vivi rapidly. When enchanted with damage-triggered draw effects like Curiosity, Ophidian Eye, or Tandem Lookout, Vivi's cast trigger deals 1 damage to each opponent, drawing three cards per spell. This provides immense card advantage that chains into explosive storm turns, fueled further by Storm-Kiln Artist and Vivi's own mana activation. The deck can close the game through cumulative burn triggers amplified by Ojer Axonil, Deepest Might and Fiery Inscription, massive finishers like Chandra's Ignition and Crackle with Power, or a compact combo with Niv-Mizzet, Parun. Robust low-cost interaction and hexproof/phasing protection keep the strategy resilient against opposing disruption.
