Deck overview

This deck is a mono-blue tempo and combat-damage strategy commanded by Grazilaxx, Illithid Scholar. The game plan revolves around deploying cheap, evasive creatures such as Departed Deckhand, Silent Hallcreeper, and Malcolm, Alluring Scoundrel during the opening turns, then casting Grazilaxx to convert unblocked combat connections into consistent card advantage. As the hand fills, the deck transitions into its win conditions by deploying draw-scaling threats and mill engines. Key payoffs include Psychosis Crawler to drain opponent life totals with each card drawn, alongside The Mindskinner, Fleet Swallower, Psychic Corrosion, and Sphinx's Tutelage to rapidly deplete opposing libraries. The deck protects its board using counterspells like Counterspell and Dissipate and phase-out effects like Slip Out the Back. While vulnerable to mass removal, redundant draw engines such as Reconnaissance Mission and Curiosity Crafter ensure the deck can rebuild and close out games reliably.
