Monarch Hate by user4888326

Format: Commander

Commander: Garland, Royal Kidnapper

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

Garland, Royal Kidnapper is a monarch-and-theft engine: he hands the crown to an opponent, steals one of that player's creatures while they keep the crown, and turns every stolen creature into a +2/+2 attacker that cannot be sacrificed. The deck leans heavily on that identity, pairing permanent theft (Hostage Taker, Mind Flayer, Shield Broker) with mass reanimation (Sepulchral Primordial, Bringer of the Last Gift). The Cyber-Controller is the closest thing to a hidden commander: it mills an army of face-down Cybermen that Garland then pumps. Secondary lines use goad effects to force attacks and Subjugate the Hobbits to seize a critical mass of small creatures before finishing with two or three combat steps.
