Deck overview

This deck is a high-synergy Izzet burn and spellslinger list commanded by Ghyrson Starn, Kelermorph. The primary strategy converts minor 1-damage pings from creatures like Thermo-Alchemist, Firebrand Archer, and Kessig Flamebreather into devastating 3-damage bursts via Ghyrson's ability. Spells such as End the Festivities and Blazing Volley double as one-sided board wipes against low-toughness creatures while simultaneously pressuring opponent life totals. The deck supports its burn engine with efficient cantrips, potent draw engines like Curiosity and Rhystic Study, and a compact instant-win combo featuring Niv-Mizzet, Parun. Fast, low-mana interaction like Flusterstorm, Swan Song, and Pyroblast protects key permanents and disrupts opposing game plans, while Karn, the Great Creator provides proactive artifact denial. Operating on a smooth curve, the deck reliably establishes its damage engine by Turn 4 and pressures the table toward a Turn 7 close.
