Alania Otter Spellslinger by Isanx

Format: Commander

Commander: Alania, Divergent Storm

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Alania, Divergent Storm leads an Izzet spellslinger deck that wins by casting many instants and sorceries. Alania copies your first instant, first sorcery, and first Otter each turn when you let an opponent draw a card, which doubles your spell count. The deck stacks pingers like Fiery Inscription, Guttersnipe, Vivi Ornitier, Coruscation Mage, and Urabrask so each cast and copy deals damage to all opponents. Big X spells such as Comet Storm, Crackle with Power, and Jaya's Immolating Inferno close the game. Prowess Otters and card engines like Niv-Mizzet, Parun and Archmage Emeritus provide secondary pressure. Vivi Ornitier and Guttersnipe act as hidden commanders that carry the damage plan even without Alania.
