Format: Commander

Commander: Blanka, Ferocious Friend

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

The Howling Abomination is a spellslinger-combat hybrid: the deck ramps out a haste 5/5 commander, then points cheap cantrips and pump spells at it to grow it while burning each opponent. Copy effects like Leyline of Resonance, Zada, and Frontline Heroism multiply those spells, drawing cards with Season of Growth and producing mana with Storm-Kiln Artist. The primary finish is a large trampling double-striking commander attack spread by Kediss, with Chandra's Ignition and Grapeshot/Guttersnipe as backup. Protection comes from a dense suite of hexproof and indestructible instants. The commander is central but not mandatory, since Zada and Mirrorwing Dragon can independently run the storm engine.
