Deck overview

This mono-blue tempo deck is commanded by Emry, Lurker of the Loch, blending artifact recursion with Merfolk tribal synergies and combat-damage card draw. Emry enters early to fill the graveyard, fueling threshold and recurring utility artifacts such as Aether Spellbomb, Alchemist's Vial, and Witching Well. The midgame transitions into aggressive board development using powerhouse threats like Kiora, the Rising Tide, which spawns an 8/8 Octopus token on every attack, alongside Svyelun of Sea and Sky and Namor the Sub-Mariner. These attackers trigger coastal piracy effects like Enduring Curiosity and Bident of Thassa to keep your hand full of countermagic. While the deck lacks fast mana and instant combo wins, it commands the mid-to-late game through steady card advantage, efficient stack protection, and an overwhelming board of large tokens and evasive creatures.
