Deck overview

This deck is an Azorius kindred tempo strategy centered on evasive Birds and flying synergies led by Kastral, the Windcrested. In the opening turns, the deck deploys low-cost flying creatures and mana-cost reducers to establish early board presence. Once Kastral enters the battlefield, any combat damage dealt by your Birds triggers its versatile modal ability, allowing you to reanimate fallen Birds, distribute +1/+1 counters across your entire team, or draw cards. The deck compounds this advantage through powerful combat-damage draw engines such as Bident of Thassa, Coastal Piracy, and Kindred Discovery. As your airborne flock swells, asymmetric anthem effects like Gravitational Shift, Empyrean Eagle, and True Conviction turn evasive attackers into lethal threats while Magus of the Moat and Propaganda nullify ground-based counterattacks. While vulnerable to sweepers that bypass indestructible effects, the deck maintains steady recovery through graveyard recursion and deep card velocity.
