Deck overview

This mono-black deck blends enter-the-battlefield theft, aristocrat sacrifice engines, and big-mana reanimation to overpower the table. Commanded by Black Cat, Cunning Thief, the deck leverages its commander to exile and cast high-value opposing spells while using efficient one-mana death-redirection instants like Not Dead After All and Undying Malice to reuse enter-the-battlefield triggers and protect key permanents. The resource base scales into massive mana through Cabal Coffers, Crypt Ghast, and Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx, fueling game-ending payoffs such as Torment of Hailfire, Breach the Multiverse, and repeated drains from Gray Merchant of Asphodel. Asymmetric stax pieces including Grave Pact, Opposition Agent, and Valgavoth, Terror Eater systematically strip opposing resources while continuous draw engines like Yawgmoth, Thran Physician and Necropotence keep the hand full. The deck operates smoothly without strict commander dependency, offering multiple independent paths to victory.
