EDH "Hey angel, fly over, and bless me..." - Shilgengar, Sire of Famine by xamillus

Format: Commander

Commander: Shilgengar, Sire of Famine

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This deck is an Orzhov Angel tribal and reanimation strategy led by Shilgengar, Sire of Famine. The early game establishes flying board presence and life totals through tribal staples like Giada, Font of Hope, Bishop of Wings, and Righteous Valkyrie while stocking the graveyard with heavy hitters via cycling, mill, and combat trades. Shilgengar serves as a high-synergy sacrifice outlet and mass reanimation engine, converting sacrificed high-toughness Angels into Blood tokens to resurrect the entire graveyard. The deck secures victory either by overwhelming opponents through sustained aerial combat backed by Avacyn, Angel of Hope and Serra's Emissary, or via a decisive alpha strike enabled by Akroma's Will.
