Deck overview

The deck is a Najal, the Storm Runner spellslinger deck. Its main plan is to develop mana, cast Najal, the Storm Runner, attack on a later turn, and copy a large instant or sorcery by paying {2}. The list contains several overlapping copy engines, including Alania, Divergent Storm, Chandra, Hope's Beacon, Rootha, Mercurial Artist, Teach by Example, and Twinferno. It also has token makers and magecraft payoffs such as Elemental Masterpiece, Third Path Iconoclast, and Storm-Kiln Artist. The plan produces strong turns when multiple pieces overlap, but ordinary access is slow and inconsistent. Most interaction is narrow, damage-based, or sorcery speed, and the deck has little protection. Its copied spells can create a threatening board around turn 10, but the list does not support a reliable same-turn kill, compact combo, or total lockout. It is best suited to a slower casual Commander table.
