Deck overview

This Golgari deck utilizes Meren of Clan Nel Toth as an incremental value engine to support a wide creature beatdown strategy. Early turns focus on mana development with artifacts like Golgari Signet and deploying utility creatures such as Troop of Ponies and Bejeweled Warg. Once Meren enters on Turn 4, the deck begins accumulating experience counters through natural combat trades and sacrifice abilities, recurring utility creatures every end step. Mid-game turns establish board presence using token generators like Chief Warg's Company, Garruk Relentless, and Elfsworn Giant, alongside card-draw engines like Garruk's Uprising. The deck pivots to a decisive finish on Turn 7 by casting Craterhoof Behemoth, End-Raze Forerunners, or Overrun, often found via Demonic Tutor or Vampiric Tutor, to overwhelm opposing boards with lethal trample damage over two to three combat steps.
