Deck overview

This deck is a Rakdos Group Slug powerhouse led by Valgavoth, Harrower of Souls. The strategy revolves around deploying cheap, continuous damage triggers that punish opponents for ordinary game actions like drawing cards, casting spells, and tapping lands. Cards like Razorkin Needlehead, Underworld Dreams, and Roiling Vortex ensure that opponents take damage on their own turns. This immediately triggers Valgavoth, growing the Demon into a lethal flying threat while drawing up to three extra cards per table cycle. The deck scales this damage using amplifiers like Solphim, Mayhem Dominus and Torbran, Thane of Red Fell, and locks out lifegain strategies with Sulfuric Vortex and Rampaging Ferocidon. It also features an infinite drain finish through Exquisite Blood paired with Sanguine Bond, Enduring Tenacity, or Bloodthirsty Conqueror.
