Deck overview

This Orzhov deck is built around Ardbert, Warrior of Darkness, turning a wide board of low-cost legendary creatures into a rapidly scaling combat force. The opening turns focus on deploying cheap legends like Killian, Ink Duelist, Ayli, Eternal Pilgrim, and Zack Fair. Once Ardbert enters on Turn 3, casting white and black spells buffs the entire legendary team with +1/+1 counters while granting vigilance and menace. Multicolored Orzhov spells trigger both modes simultaneously, making attackers difficult to block. Card advantage engines such as Tymna the Weaver and Gix, Yawgmoth Praetor exploit evasive attacks to keep resources flowing. The deck backs up its board presence with an extensive suite of versatile spot removal and efficient single-target protection spells. Victory is achieved through sustained combat damage distributed across opponents over consecutive turn cycles.
