Deck overview

This is a mono-blue control deck built around Hermes, Overseer of Elpis. The commander turns every noncreature spell into a flying Bird token, and the deck is packed with counterspells, instant-speed interaction, and card draw. The primary plan is to control the game with permission and removal, accumulate Bird tokens, then finish with commander damage or a large token army. The deck also contains a compact infinite-mana combo with Deadeye Navigator and Peregrine Drake, which can be used to draw the deck with Blue Sun's Zenith or Finale of Revelation and win with Laboratory Maniac. The deck is highly interactive and resilient, with a strong late-game engine.
