Deck overview

Rendmaw, Creaking Nest pilots a unique multi-type midrange strategy centered on goading opposing boards and weaponizing symmetrical creature generation. By leveraging a high density of dual-typed cards—including artifact lands, artifact creatures, enchantment creatures, and kindred spells—the deck continuously triggers Rendmaw's ability to flood the battlefield with tapped, goaded 2/2 flying Bird tokens for all players. Because the tokens are permanently goaded, opponents are forced into aggressive combat against each other, leaving the pilot untouched and rapidly eroding enemy life totals. The deck breaks parity through asymmetric combat tech like Bower Passage, constellation debuffs from Doomwake Giant, and devastating token sweepers such as Massacre Wurm and Culling Ritual. Explosive card draw engines like Species Specialist and Pygmy Kavu keep hand sizes full as tokens clash, while direct damage finishers like Wing Storm or an active Beastmaster Ascension decisively close out the game against depleted life totals.
