Budget Mono Blue Watcher (duplicated from lockleaf) by TragicMonkey

Format: Commander

Commander: The Watcher in the Water

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

This mono-blue deck helmed by The Watcher in the Water combines a slow, control-oriented game plan with a draw-matters token engine and a handful of massive Krakens for a combat finish. The commander enters tapped with nine stun counters and only becomes active through repeated Tentacle death triggers, which themselves rely on drawing cards during opponents' turns. The deck packs a dense suite of instant-speed draw spells, bounce wipes, and spot removal to grind out advantage, then deploys finishers like Psychosis Crawler (life-drain from card draw) and evasive beaters (Nezahal, Primal Tide, Lorthos, the Tidemaker). The primary path to victory is combat: amassing a board of Tentacle tokens and big sea creatures, then crashing in. The deck has no reliable infinite combos and no tutors to assemble one, so it leans entirely on value generation and tempo.
