The Crushing Weight of Capitalism (Smaug) by Gebel

Format: Commander

Commander: Smaug, Wicked Worm

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Smaug, Wicked Worm commands an aggressive Rakdos Treasure engine that turns artifact production and sacrifice into explosive mana and lethal life loss. The primary game plan revolves around generating high volumes of Treasure tokens using engines like Xorn, Academy Manufactor, and Cavern-Hoard Dragon, then converting those tokens into direct damage with pingers such as Mirkwood Bats, Marionette Master, and Reckless Fireweaver. Smaug accelerates this strategy by punishing artifact-heavy boards on entry and converting spent Treasure mana into card advantage. Secondary win conditions include alternate win triggers from Revel in Riches and Hellkite Tyrant, alongside an infinite sacrifice damage loop with Mayhem Devil and Smaug the Impenetrable.
