Deck overview

This deck is a Rakdos midrange build focused on Kamigawa-era Ogre and Demon tribal synergies, led by Hidetsugu, Devouring Chaos. The primary strategy deploys resilient, high-power beaters like Yukora, the Prisoner, Gutwrencher Oni, and Kazuul, Tyrant of the Cliffs, while using Hidetsugu to convert excess mana and sacrifice fodder into card flow and direct burn. The deck runs a robust suite of targeted creature removal—such as Terminate, Withering Torment, and Molten Collapse—to clear opposing blockers and protect life totals. Because the list relies almost entirely on basic lands with minimal mana acceleration, its tempo develops strictly on curve. Win conditions center on sustained combat damage amplified by equipment like Hexplate Wallbreaker and Meteoric Mace, backed by incremental burn from Hidetsugu and Poisonbelly Ogre. Lacking instant protection spells, the deck relies on reanimation effects to grind through removal and close out longer games.
