Deck overview

This Grixis deck is helmed by Kefka, Court Mage // Kefka, Ruler of Ruin, functioning as a discard-driven control and reanimator engine. The deck focuses on ramping during the opening turns with efficient mana rocks before deploying Kefka on Turn 4 or 5. Upon entering the battlefield and attacking, Kefka forces all players to discard while refilling your hand based on the card types discarded. This continuous hand disruption depletes opposing resources while fueling your graveyard and those of your opponents. In the mid-to-late game, the deck leverages large graveyards through powerful reanimation and spell-stealing threats like Sepulchral Primordial, Diluvian Primordial, and Kefka, Dancing Mad. Once ready, paying eight mana transforms Kefka into Kefka, Ruler of Ruin, which converts any opponent life loss into massive card draw. Synergies with Psychosis Crawler, Loyal Subordinate, and Niv-Mizzet, Parun allow the deck to rapidly close out games through overwhelming card advantage, sustained drain, and lethal damage.
