Deck overview

This Abzan deck leverages Tayam, Luminous Enigma as an engine commander to convert counters and mana into repeatable graveyard recursion. Every other creature entering the battlefield receives a vigilance counter from Tayam, satisfying the counter cost for its activated ability. The deck is loaded with low-mana permanent ramp, counter multipliers, and sacrifice outlets that enable explosive turns. Once Tayam and a recursive engine piece like Insidious Roots, Good-Fortune Unicorn, or Devoted Druid are assembled, the deck rapidly mills its library, recurring permanent answers and combo pieces. The primary kill revolves around looping Grist, the Hunger Tide to drain all opponents simultaneously with its ultimate ability, or overwhelming the table after completely wiping opposing permanents with repeatable removal such as Skyclave Apparition and Ruthless Lawbringer.
