Deck overview

This Golgari deck is an Aristocrats combo engine commanded by Gorma, the Gullet. Gorma grants entering nontoken creatures an additional +1/+1 counter for each creature that died under your control this turn. This creates an infinite sacrifice loop when paired with Putrid Goblin and any free sacrifice outlet such as Viscera Seer, Carrion Feeder, or Phyrexian Altar. When Putrid Goblin dies, Persist returns it with a -1/-1 counter while Gorma puts a +1/+1 counter on it, cancelling both counters via state-based actions. Combining this loop with drain payoffs like Blood Artist, Zulaport Cutthroat, The Meathook Massacre, Ayara, First of Locthwain, or Dina, Soul Steeper drains the entire table to zero life on Turn 4. Beyond the primary combo, the deck exerts oppressive board control through Grave Pact and Dictate of Erebos, repeatedly wiping opposing creatures with recurring tokens from Ophiomancer and Jadar, Ghoulcaller of Nephalia while engines like Yawgmoth, Thran Physician maintain overwhelming card advantage.
