This deck is an Orzhov Lifegain Combo-Control strategy commanded by Niv-Mizzet, Ghost Counsel. The primary game plan revolves around leveraging incidental and burst lifegain triggers to draw massive amounts of cards through Niv-Mizzet's triggered ability. By converting life directly into card advantage, the deck rapidly digs through its 99 to assemble game-winning synergies. The premier win condition is a two-card infinite loop between Niv-Mizzet, Ghost Counsel and Sheoldred, the Apocalypse, which allows you to draw your entire library and gain unbounded life. From there, Skirge Familiar converts excess cards in hand into black mana to cast a lethal table-wide Exsanguinate. In the absence of an immediate combo, the deck controls the board with efficient spot removal and sweepers while draining opponents via Sanguine Bond, Starscape Cleric, and Indulging Patrician.
