Deck overview

This deck is an Esper Sphinx Typal Midrange strategy helmed by The Ur-Sphinx. It leverages the commander's eminence ability alongside cost reducers like Urza's Incubator, Heartless Summoning, and Watcher of the Spheres to rapidly deploy expensive, high-impact flying creatures ahead of curve. The engine centers on Unesh, Criosphinx Sovereign, which chains mini-Fact or Fiction triggers and reduces Sphinx costs by an additional {2}, quickly flooding the board and graveyard with resources. The deck controls the tempo of the game using premier spot removal (Void Rend, Anguished Unmaking), countermagic, and asymmetric board wipes such as Raise the Palisade and Kindred Dominance. Game-ending pressure is applied through high-power evasive attacks, life manipulation via Magister Sphinx, extra turns from Medomai the Ageless, and token swarms from Elenda and Azor. Built-in ward, hexproof, and recursion ensure robust long-game resilience.
