how many tokens is enough? by benbgg

Format: Commander

Commander: Marneus Calgar

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Marneus Calgar is the engine, not a combat beatstick: every token entry draws cards, so the deck is built around token generators, token doublers, and death-payoff creatures. The primary plan is to land Marneus, add a doubler such as Anointed Procession or Mondrak, turn Adeline/Company Commander tokens into card advantage, and convert that swarm into life loss with Zulaport Cutthroat, Elas il-Kor, Bastion of Remembrance, or Mirkwood Bats. Secondary lines use Nadir Kraken, Ashnod's Altar, and Pitiless Plunderer to create repeated Treasure/token/draw loops. There is no double-faced or hidden commander; Marneus is the focal engine.
