Deck overview

This deck is a Grixis theft and pirate aggro-control strategy helmed by Don Andres, the Renegade. Its primary game plan revolves around exiling and casting cards from opponents' libraries, graveyards, and hands, turning opposing resources against their owners. Don Andres supercharges this game plan by turning every stolen creature into a menacing, deathtouching Pirate with +2/+2, while generating Treasure tokens whenever noncreature spells are pilfered. Early turns focus on establishing mana velocity through rocks and low-curve thieves like Ragavan, Nimble Pilferer and Laughing Jasper Flint. In the mid-game, engines like Breeches, Brazen Plunderer, Tasha, the Witch Queen, and Brainstealer Dragon generate card advantage and life loss. Mass-theft sorceries like Mob Rule and Insurrection serve as decisive finishers by converting entire opposing boards into lethal combat swings. Supported by efficient countermagic and free interaction, the deck maintains resilience while out-valuing the pod.
