Deck overview

This deck is a high-synergy Grixis spellslinger and group-slug strategy helmed by Abaddon the Despoiler. The game plan revolves around dealing incremental noncombat damage to all opponents during the early turns through cards like Creeping Bloodsucker, Loyal Subordinate, and Descent into Avernus. Once opponents have lost life, Abaddon grants cascade to spells cast from hand, turning mid-cost spells into cascading chains of free cards. The deck leverages heavy exile-casting payoffs, including Keeper of Secrets, Passionate Archaeologist, Ancient Cellarspawn, and Flaming Tyrannosaurus, which weaponize every free cast into targeted and table-wide burn. Massive mana producers like Neheb, the Eternal, Jeska's Will, and Birgi, God of Storytelling sustain long cascade turns, while damage doublers such as Solphim, Mayhem Dominus accelerate life loss. Although light on countermagic and instant protection, the deck overcomes disruption through dense redundancy and independent exile engines like Plargg and Nassari and Etali, Primal Storm.
