Deck overview

This deck is a classic Grixis Wheels and Group Slug build commanded by Nekusar, the Mindrazer. The primary strategy converts symmetrical card draw into lethal damage and poison counters. Early turns focus on deploying mana rocks, cost reducers, and passive draw engines like Howling Mine and Fevered Visions. Once Nekusar or redundant pingers like Razorkin Needlehead and Orcish Bowmasters hit the battlefield, the deck amplifies its output using damage modifiers like Mechanized Warfare or infect enablers like Phyresis and Grafted Exoskeleton. Resolving a burst draw spell such as Wheel and Deal, Molten Psyche, or Forced Fruition rapidly drains life totals or applies lethal poison across the table. Robust protection, including Deflecting Swat, Swan Song, and repeatable phasing from Vanishing, ensures the commander survives targeted interaction to close the game.
