Deck overview

This Orzhov deck blends Angel tribal synergies with an aristocrats-style reanimator strategy piloted by Shilgengar, Sire of Famine. The game plan focuses on deploying high-toughness Angels early, utilizing tribal enablers like Giada, Font of Hope and Starnheim Aspirant to smooth out a steep mana curve. Once Shilgengar enters the battlefield, it converts Angels into large bursts of Blood tokens, enabling a mass reanimation ability that returns the entire graveyard to play. The deck closes games through overwhelming aerial combat, bolstered by anthem effects like Lyra Dawnbringer, Coat of Arms, and the finishing power of Akroma's Will. While the deck boasts high individual card quality and resilient board states via Avacyn, Angel of Hope, its high mana curve and reliance on the graveyard make it vulnerable to early aggression, countermagic, and dedicated graveyard interaction.
