Deck overview

This Golgari deck is commanded by Rendmaw, Creaking Nest, an engine that converts multi-type cards into swarms of goaded 2/2 flying Bird tokens for every player at the table. By filling the 99 with artifact creatures, enchantment creatures, artifact lands, and kindred spells, the deck reliably triggers Rendmaw multiple times per turn. The resulting flock forces opponents into mandatory combat against one another, stripping their life totals and blocking capability while completely shielding the Rendmaw pilot from aerial attacks. The deck capitalizes on this forced attrition through morbid draw engines like Deathreap Ritual and mana enablers like Insidious Roots. Once opposing life totals are depleted, the pilot closes the game on turn 7 using team-wide pump effects like Beastmaster Ascension and Demolisher Spawn, or an asymmetric sweeper like Massacre Wurm that eradicates opposing birds and drains remaining life totals.
