Deck overview

This deck is an aggressive Orzhov lifegain and Voltron strategy led by Karlov of the Ghost Council. It deploys dense 1-mana and 2-mana lifegain triggers like Soul Warden, Authority of the Consuls, and Guide of Souls to rapidly grow Karlov by two +1/+1 counters per trigger. By Turn 4, Karlov becomes a massive threat capable of eliminating opponents in rapid succession while threatening instant-speed creature exile. Secondary threats like Archangel of Thune, Crested Sunmare, Voice of the Blessed, and Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose turn incremental lifegain into wide boards and direct life loss. Disruptive permanents such as Drannith Magistrate and Blind Obedience slow down opposing game plans, while protective spells like Clever Concealment and Dawn's Truce defend the board against sweepers. The deck wins by combining lethal commander strikes with steady attrition and explosive combat finishers like Akroma's Will.
