Deck overview

This deck is a specialized Gruul Stompy and punisher list built entirely with 60 creatures and 39 lands. By avoiding noncreature spells completely, the deck breaks parity on Ruric Thar, the Unbowed, forcing opponents to take 6 damage for every noncreature spell they cast while you develop your board uninhibited. A dense suite of 1-drop and 2-drop mana dorks accelerates your mana curve, enabling Turn 4 deployment of Ruric Thar or massive combat threats like Xenagos, God of Revels, Karlach, Fury of Avernus, and Moraug, Fury of Akoum. Card flow is maintained through creature-based engines such as Beast Whisperer, Toski, Bearer of Secrets, and Ohran Frostfang. The deck aims to overwhelm opponents with scaling combat damage, extra combat steps, and damage multipliers, closing out games by Turn 6. An alternate instant-win combo exists with Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker and Combat Celebrant.
