Deck overview

This deck is a Selesnya hatebears and combat-control strategy built around Kudo, King Among Bears. Kudo turns all other creatures on the battlefield into base 2/2 Bears. This ability creates unique asymmetric synergies when combined with global power modifiers and tax effects. Cards like Reverence prevent opposing creatures from attacking altogether, while Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite continuously clears opposing boards by reducing their base toughness to zero. Meanwhile, efficient stax pieces such as Thalia, Guardian of Thraben, Archon of Emeria, and Collector Ouphe delay and disrupt opposing combos and storm turns. Card velocity is fueled by creature-fall and combat-damage engines like Welcoming Vampire, Toski, Bearer of Secrets, and Ohran Frostfang. The deck scales its own board via +1/+1 counter engines, closing out the game with overwhelming combat damage.
