Deck overview

This mono-black deck pairs Yargle, Glutton of Urborg with a potent midrange life-drain and infinite combo core. While the commander provides an imposing 9-power combat presence supported by equipment like Blackblade Reforged and Trailblazer's Boots, the deck's primary route to victory revolves around life-drain combos. The foremost line pairs Professor Onyx with Chain of Smog, repeatedly targeting oneself to trigger infinite Magecraft drain. A secondary redundant loop combines Bloodthirsty Conqueror with Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose, Sanguine Bond, or Enduring Tenacity. The mana base consists of 35 basic Swamps supported by mana doublers like Crypt Ghast and burst ramp like Dark Ritual. Midrange disruption pieces including Opposition Agent and a deep suite of spot removal buy the time needed to assemble a definitive Turn 6 win.
