Deck overview

This Abzan deck piloted by Betor, Ancestor's Voice combines lifegain synergies, aristocrats sacrifice engines, and reanimator lines to execute compact infinite drain finishes. The primary strategy leverages high card velocity from engines such as Sylvan Library, Black Market Connections, and Yawgmoth, Thran Physician to assemble two-card infinite combos: either the Exquisite Blood plus Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose/Enduring Tenacity chain, or the Warren Soultrader plus Gravecrawler and Blood Artist loop. Betor, Ancestor's Voice converts combat lifegain and self-inflicted life loss into scaling +1/+1 counters and end-step reanimation, cheating high-impact threats like Archon of Cruelty and Protean Hulk into play. The deck controls the board using premier low-cost removal such as Swords to Plowshares, Assassin's Trophy, and Toxic Deluge, while maintaining resilient graveyard recovery that easily shrugs off creature removal.
