Deck overview

This Orzhov deck leverages Liesa, Shroud of Dusk to impose a punishing 2-life tax on every spell cast, weaponizing life totals while using lifelink and soul-sister triggers to offset its own losses. The deck suppresses opposing aggression through pillowfort permanents like Ghostly Prison, Magus of the Moat, and Blind Obedience, while generating continuous card advantage through Trouble in Pairs and Mangara, the Diplomat. Instead of relying on infinite combos, the strategy focuses on steady, asymmetric attrition: draining opponents with Kambal, Consul of Allocation, Bloodchief Ascension, and Polluted Bonds, or reanimating devastating threats such as Archon of Cruelty. Robust protection spells like Flawless Maneuver and Clever Concealment safeguard the board, and Liesa's unique life-payment tax replacement ensures she can be repeatedly recast to sustain continuous pressure.
