Valgavoth, The Funny One by Leingad

Format: Commander

Commander: Valgavoth, Harrower of Souls

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Valgavoth, Harrower of Souls helms a Rakdos group-slug strategy that turns every opponent's life loss - from any source - into card draw and a growing beater. The deck piles on symmetric damage triggers (Underworld Dreams, Kederekt Parasite, Scrawling Crawler, Ankh of Mishra) then multiplies them with Fiery Emancipation, Twinflame Tyrant, Solphin, Mayhem Dominus, and Bloodletter of Aclazotz. The primary win conditions are massive X-spells like Torment of Hailfire and Exsanguinate amplified by damage doublers, or Chandra's Ignition on a pumped-up Valgavoth. Reanimation packages (Animate Dead, Reanimate, Whip of Erebos) provide recursion, and a suite of instant-speed interaction (Deadly Rollick, Chaos Warp, Terminate) disrupts opponent's key pieces. The deck generates significant card advantage through Necropotence and the commander's triggered draw, closing the game through inevitability rather than a single combo.
