Deck overview

This deck is an Azorius Draw-Go Control strategy led by Raff Capashen, Ship's Mage. Raff grants flash to historic cards, allowing artifacts, legendary spells, Sagas, and planeswalkers to be cast at instant speed. The deck spends early turns developing mana with rocks and deploying static hate pieces like Lavinia, Azorius Renegade and Trinisphere to tax opposing development. Once Raff enters on an opponent's end step, the pilot holds mana open on every turn cycle, threatening countermagic, removal, or flash bombs based on how opponents act. The late game transitions into decisive control through uncounterable threats like Hullbreaker Horror, massive card advantage from Kozilek, Butcher of Truth, and lethal equipment like Kaldra Compleat. The deck finishes the game by locking down opposing actions with spell-trigger bounces and dealing lethal combat damage over several turns.
