DIMIR KRAKENS - RUNO by SrKelvin

Format: Commander

Commander: Runo Stromkirk // Krothuss, Lord of the Deep

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Runo/Krothuss is a sea-monster swarm deck. The early game is top-deck manipulation: scry, surveil, and filter spells set a 6+ creature on top so Runo flips into Krothuss. Once flipped, Krothuss attacks with a Kraken, Leviathan, Octopus, or Serpent and creates two tapped-and-attacking copies, multiplying each turn's damage. Satoru Umezawa acts as a hidden commander, using ninjutsu to cheat huge sea monsters into combat. Secondary lines use clone effects, Whelming Wave and Scourge of Fleets to clear blockers, and recursion to rebuild after wipes. The deck is resilient but slow; it wins by overwhelming combat rather than combo.
