Commander: Zaxara, the Exemplary

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is a Sultai big-mana X-spell deck built around Zaxara, the Exemplary. Zaxara is the engine in every phase: she taps for two mana to feed the {X} of the deck's core spells, her trigger turns every X spell into a scaling Hydra token, and she anchors the deck's only infinite-mana line with Freed from the Real. The plan is to ramp ahead of curve, land Zaxara by turn three or four, then layer counter multipliers - Doubling Season, Vorinclex, Monstrous Raider, Corpsejack Menace, Unbound Flourishing - and mana engines - Seedborn Muse, Wilderness Reclamation, Kruphix, God of Horizons, Nissa, Who Shakes the World - until one gigantic spell closes the game: Torment of Hailfire, Villainous Wealth, or Mind Grind. Combat is a solid secondary path through trampling Hydras, Kalonian Hydra's attack trigger, and Overwhelming Stampede. This is a value-engine deck with an inexorable mid-game kill window rather than a consistent fast-combo build.
