Deck overview

This deck is a Rakdos artifact and dragon midrange strategy commanded by Smaug, Wicked Worm. The game plan focuses on building a stable mana base using artifact ramp and lands during the first four turns, then resolving Smaug on turn 5 to capitalize on opposing artifacts and generate a hoard of Treasures. Smaug's static ability turns every Treasure spent into card draw, fueling explosive mid-to-late-game sequences. The deck wins by converting heavy artifact counts into lethal combat damage using beaters like Hellkite Igniter, Darksteel Juggernaut, and Myr Battlesphere, or by assembling a sudden infinite token combo with Dualcaster Mage and Kindle the Inner Flame. Reactive removal and stax-lite punisher pieces help keep opposing boards manageable while you set up game-ending swings.
