Deck overview

This deck is a Sultai Superfriends engine commanded by Xavier Sal, Infested Captain. The primary game plan focuses on deploying efficient early ramp to cast planeswalkers ahead of curve, then leveraging Xavier Sal alongside counter doublers and proliferate engines to rapidly build loyalty. Cards like Carth the Lion, Tekuthal, Inquiry Dominus, Pir, Imaginative Rascal, and Innkeeper's Talent dramatically accelerate the path to game-ending ultimate abilities. Token generation from walkers such as Garruk, Cursed Huntsman, Lolth, Spider Queen, and Nissa, Voice of Zendikar supplies fodder for Xavier's abilities while creating a resilient defensive barrier against opposing attacks. The deck wins either by chaining overwhelming planeswalker ultimates—such as Nissa, Ascended Animist's massive overrun or Vraska, Betrayal's Sting's poison counters—or through compact engine combos featuring The Chain Veil and Teferi, Temporal Archmage.
