Hei Bai, Forest Guardian by G8Ng

Format: Commander

Commander: Hei Bai, Forest Guardian

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Hei Bai, Forest Guardian leads a five-color Shrine-tribal deck that leans heavily into enchantment synergies and token generation. The primary game plan is to ramp into Shrines, use Hei Bai's ETB to tutor one directly onto the battlefield, then mass-produce evasive Spirit tokens through his activated ability. Cards like Purphoros, God of the Forge and Warleader's Call convert each token into table-wide burn, while Anointed Procession and Sanctum of All double triggers for explosive bursts. A robust blink package (Displacer Kitten, Teleportation Circle, Another Round) re-triggers Hei Bai's tutor and other constellation draw, ensuring the deck keeps digging until it assembles a critical mass of legendary enchantments. Though it lacks traditional infinite combos, the deck's sheer value engine - enchantress draw, mana from Sanctum of Fruitful Harvest and Sanctum Weaver, and repeatable token production - creates overwhelming inevitability in the mid-to-late game. Winning usually comes from a combination of Purphoros triggers and an unblockable spirit army.
