Deck overview

This deck is a Bant midrange strategy built around Tidus, Yuna's Guardian, focusing on +1/+1 counter distribution, proliferation, and combat-driven card advantage. The deck curves early counter enablers and mana dorks into Tidus on Turn 3, establishing repeatable card draw and stat proliferation by Turn 4. Functional redundancy across scaling engines like Forgotten Ancient, Maester Seymour, and The Earth Crystal allows the board to grow wide and tall rapidly. Victory is achieved through devastating combat swings empowered by evasion enablers like Duskshell Crawler and Sphere Grid, combat multipliers like Chocobo Knights, or asymmetric wipes like Damning Verdict. The deck defends its board using counter-synergistic protection like Protection Magic and Inspiring Call, backed by efficient countermagic. While it lacks unconditional tutors and fast mana, its robust engine and resilient protection provide strong mid-game inevitability and steady card velocity.
