Deck overview

This mono-blue artifact deck uses Lady Octopus, Inspired Inventor to bypass the steep mana costs of the game's most devastating artifacts. Deploying Lady Octopus on Turn 1 allows her to accumulate ingenuity counters through normal draw steps, cheap cantrips, and proliferate spells. By Turn 4 or 5, she taps to cheat massive threats like Portal to Phyrexia, Blightsteel Colossus, and The Ten Rings directly onto the battlefield. While high-cost artifacts enter play, Simulacrum Synthesizer builds an army of massive Construct tokens. The deck pairs this explosive cheating capability with a rich artifact tutor package (Fabricate, Treasure Mage, Transmute Artifact, Whir of Invention) and an infinite colorless mana combo in Basalt Monolith plus Forensic Gadgeteer. Dense countermagic and innovative protection spells like Ripples of Potential and The Ozolith protect the engine from disruption, allowing the deck to close games swiftly through infect and overwhelming combat damage.
