Format: Commander

Commander: The Gitrog, Ravenous Ride

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

The deck is a Golgari landfall value engine built around The Gitrog, Ravenous Ride. Its primary plan is to cast the commander early, saddle it with a huge creature such as Daemogoth Titan or Yargle and Multani, attack, then sacrifice that saddled creature to draw ten-plus cards and put multiple lands onto the battlefield. The follow-up uses landfall payoffs like Rampaging Baloths, Scute Swarm, and Greensleeves to convert those lands into a board, and finishes with trample pumps, Genesis Wave, or Exsanguinate. The commander is the main draw/ramp engine; there is no double-faced commander. The Gitrog Monster in the 99 is a support engine, not a true hidden commander.
