Deck overview

This deck is a proactive Boros aggressive strategy led by Lightning, Army of One, blending go-wide token generation with damage-multiplying combat pressure. The game plan focuses on establishing early board presence with efficient token producers like Adeline, Resplendent Cathar, Legion Warboss, and Hero of Bladehold. Once Lightning, Army of One connects with combat damage, its Stagger ability doubles all subsequent damage dealt to that opponent until your next turn. This asymmetric damage multiplier turns modest token swarms into lethal strikes. Supporting stax pieces such as Drannith Magistrate and Thalia, Heretic Cathar slow down opposing development and disrupt reliance on the command zone. The deck protects its creature board with versatile defensive spells like Teferi's Protection, Grand Crescendo, and Selfless Spirit. While it lacks stack-based countermagic, its high threat density, resilient anthems, and burst finishers like Savage Beating allow it to close out games through combat dominance.
