The British Empire by andisir

Format: Commander

Commander: Garland, Royal Kidnapper

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

This deck is a theft-and-control strategy helmed by Garland, Royal Kidnapper. The commander enters and makes an opponent the monarch, then triggers whenever an opponent becomes the monarch to steal a creature they control for as long as they remain the monarch. The deck is packed with additional theft effects, reanimation spells, and goad mechanics to disrupt opponents and accumulate a board of stolen creatures. Those creatures get +2/+2 and can't be sacrificed, making them excellent attackers. The primary win condition is combat damage through a swarm of stolen and reanimated creatures, supplemented by heavy recursion to recover from board wipes. The deck lacks a fast combo finish and relies on incremental value to outlast opponents.
