Deck overview

This deck is a focused Gruul Werewolf tribal aggro strategy helmed by Tovolar, Dire Overlord // Tovolar, the Midnight Scourge. The game plan curves efficient Wolves and Werewolves on Turns 1 and 2, casts Tovolar on Turn 3, and immediately connects in combat to draw extra cards. On Turn 4 upkeep, controlling three or more lupine creatures forces the game state into Night, transforming the entire board into over-statted threats with trample, evasion, and scaling combat triggers. The massive card velocity generated by Tovolar's combat damage triggers refuels the hand constantly, allowing the deck to flood the board with heavy hitters like Tovolar's Huntmaster and close the game through overrun effects like Overwhelming Stampede or Tovolar's built-in {X}{R}{G} pump ability by Turn 7. While vulnerable to creature sweepers and lacking stack-based interaction, the deck maintains immense momentum and high card flow.
