Deck overview

This deck is a Dimir Villain midrange strategy commanded by Taskmaster, Mercenary Mimic. The game plan focuses on casting early Villain creatures that synergize through connive triggers, token creation, and incremental life drain. In the early game, the deck deploys utility creatures like Baron Strucker, HYDRA Overlord and Crimson Cowl, Master of Evil, filtering cards into the graveyard while holding up countermagic. Taskmaster, Mercenary Mimic enters on turn 4 and begins copying the most impactful creature on the battlefield or in any graveyard on turn 5. The deck transitions into the late game by copying potent threats like Radioactive Man or The Masters of Evil, overwhelming opponents with an unblockable or menace-heavy Villain army while draining life totals with Crossbones, Malicious Mercenary and Doom Reigns Supreme.
